Being Born and Raised in the same Area this Book was written about and took place, I was particularly interested in Reading this Story. I can very well Relate to a lot of what is written as I am only about seven years older than John or Johnnie as I remembered him. The Book is one that once you start reading it you don't want to put it down. Of course I enjoyed all the Pictures and References he had in "By His Own Blood" too. Although I don't remember a lot of the things written or some of the characters mentioned, I did rembember some of them. This was a very entertaining Book to me and I am sure that most people whether raised in that particular rural area or not would enjoy reading this account of what happened to John's Father. My Family went to one of the Church's mentioned in this Book when I was a Kid. I moved away from the area in 1959 but have kept in touch somewhat of the happenings around there until this day. I have spent time in most places mentioned in the story through the years even when my father was Hospitalized in, I am assuming the same Hospital's mentioned. My Mother also was in some of the Hospitals mentioned and both were in the Care Home in Knox City, Texas. My congratulations to John on his First Book.

Johnny....I didn't realize you lost your dad by such an unnecesary way. I think it's great that you have shared the story with others. Toni said to pass on her regards, and please give Karen a hug for me.
