Johnny,

Your book absolutely nailed what life was like growing up in a small town in West Texas during the 40s, 50s, and 60s.  It was a wonderful trip down memory lane; remembering all the good people that heavily influenced our lives and some of the bad stuff we grew up with also.

We are a sum of all the parts that we have seen and heard.  It is clearly evident that you incorporated the best parts of your experiences and sifted out the bad parts to form the type of man you are today.

“Honor thy Mother and thy Father!”  You have done that remarkably well your entire life.  Your book paints a beautiful picture of the Honor Code you and Gene have lived your lives by.

If Hollywood had a history of making films of a Christian man plodding through life in an honorable fashion, I would hold out hope that a film would be made of your book.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, uplifting story with the world.

Danny, your comments sum it up very well. Lots of good people in our lives and great time and place to grow up. We can get by the not-so-good parts when there is so much good to remember. I do appreciate your recognition of the book and especially your kind words about my Mom and Dad. Thank you. Hope to see you soon. John

Johnny....I didn't realize you lost your dad by such an unnecesary way.  I think it's great that you have shared the story with others.  Toni said to pass on her regards, and please give Karen a hug for me.
