Well, for those who have suggested that my book, By His Own Blood, should be made into a movie......it just may be. Greg Clonts has purchased the screen rights to the book, partnered with a terrific screenwriter, Rod McCall (www.blowinghat.com), and they're off and running. I celebrated with Greg, his beautiful wife, Kim, and Rod McCall over dinner recently in Santa Monica, CA. Of course, I'm very excited with all this. Greg is very committed to the project, as he is with the other movies he's currently working on, so we're all looking forward to some exciting things over the next year or so. Stay tuned! Below is a current news release distributed by Greg's company, Tesoro Pictures.
TESORO PICTURES
Tesoro Pictures, a Texas and New Mexico based entertainment company, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the screen rights to John Montandon’s critically acclaimed book “By His Own Blood.”
“By His Own Blood” is a gripping story of redemption, told through the eyes of a young man growing up in rural west Texas. His father, a man of gentle principles, is accidentally exposed to the deadly HIV virus through a blood transfusion, and refused treatment by local hospitals in the early years of the AIDS epidemic.
Making the announcement, Greg Clonts, Managing Partner of Tesoro Pictures, said, “We are thrilled to have completed this acquisition and excited to put the screenwriting process in the capable hands of fellow partner Rod McCall, a New Mexico based filmmaker and director. This is a story with a heart and a soul and we look forward to producing a film that matches the eloquence of John Montandon’s wonderful story.”
This acquisition follows the recently acquired option to the screenplay “Magic City”, by Rod McCall and James Hoggard, based on the novel “Elevator Man” written by James Hoggard. “Magic City” is the real life story of Bobby Johnson, a “bigger-than-life” Texas grain mogul, who fakes his own death, bilks investors of millions, and becomes the stuff of legends.
Tesoro Pictures currently has five productions in development including the comedy “Traveling Salesmen”, scheduled to begin filming in June of 2016.

Johnny....I didn't realize you lost your dad by such an unnecesary way. I think it's great that you have shared the story with others. Toni said to pass on her regards, and please give Karen a hug for me.
